  • Goodbye Martin, hello Taylor

Posted by on October 19, 2013

The problem with buying this new Taylor guitar is that it is impossible for me to walk out of my room. I can’t stop playing it. even if I am thirsty or hungry, i keep playing it. hours go by. I turned in my Martin with steel strings for this Taylor with nylon. After so many years with steel strings, I have come back to what I used as a kid.

    Here’s how it sounds…

Thanks to all of you who tweeted, posted and shared, the Lay It On The Line video has 15,000 views. THANK YOU!
Keep an eye out for my upcoming promotional/kickstarter video in the next few weeks which will hopefully make you smile and laugh.

For those of you who are interested, we are casting for an audience for our next video in the Fall. There are only two requirements
1- Close proximity to Williamsburg Brooklyn (and the willingness to go there for a few hours).
2- Intense desire to do something incredibly fun.

Mastering of the album is in process, so as soon as that is done, I will finally be able to share with you 10 other songs I’ve been working on for the past 7 years!

Editing the video, mastering of the album, having a blast creating an upcoming promotional campaign, and practicing! Looking forward to stepping into the light, but not before everything is fully baked.

A friend tipped me off to the Alexander technique and after a few sessions, I am beginning to see progress. Good for reducing back pain and improving vocal performance!

  • lead guitars and stepping out of the box

Posted by on April 21, 2011

While the moment captured in this picture only lasted for 20 short minutes on a fairly hectic mini getaway, i assure you it was just as fun as fun as it looks.   It was good to step out of the box and let my fingers and mind take a break from constant practice.

Meanwhile, production continues.  i am adding grungy rhythm and lead guitar to one of my songs called Free.  This is a song I “finished” several times already, but the beauty of not having a deadline is that when inspiration strikes, there is still time for editing before the true “final” version is pressed…

  • falsettos and distorted guitars

Good session today.  I re-sang “Ruby Lights”- a song I first recorded three years ago.  The vocals sound more intimate and closer now.  We also changed the drums to be closer in as well because they sounded too roomy in the initial production.  Also added some electric guitars on top of the acoustic tracks which sound great.

Over the past week, I rented some practice studios to jam with a bunch of musicians for my upcoming live performances.

Meanwhile,  I continue to fine tune the production of my songs.
